Hello Karen, I think it took about 3 weeks for the book to arrive from the States. Well worth waiting for. They said it would take about 6 weeks or so.

I really enjoyed the Tabby Cat and intended doing others but my time this past 6 months has been limited. V Walters e-mail course is very good and I do intend to do another, of a pony perhaps.
I sent a photo of the Tabby to Vivienne and it was put on her e-mail student page. I would also like to do one of her mixed media animals
too.

I love the velour paper another one I like is Somerset velvet lovely paper. Another one I like is a very fine 240 sandpaper.

Regards
Eve

Hello Eve,
my book arrived!!,as you it really only took 3 weeks, the book is very good as it is soley for pastels (at last) and her work is just amazing, but I was disapointed that some of her work in the book are her pictures and techniques I allready had in other books.
I havent come across the somerset paper so will keep my eyes peeled to see what it is like ?.
The only thing that I have not done to my collie yet is the final stage, the wiskers, like you Iam short on time and although Vivien offered to put my collie in her students gallery when finished ,there are so many pics of the collie I cant see it selling, what I would like to do is try the tabby cat ,as I am not to good at getting depth of fur texture, and I would definately like to put into practice the the techniques I learned on viviens collie, into a pic of my own photo of a collie, to see if it comes out just as well??.Unfortunately ,there is no gallery here for people to show everyone thier work,I would love to see what your' cat looked like, and would be happy to give you my e.mail so we can see each others paintings, what do you think??
regards,
karen.

Hello Karen I will be happy to send you a photo of the Tabby. The Somerset Paper is in the Saa Shop Catalogue page 134.

I thought the Gallery of Viviens was just for showing how the paintings turned out for her students, her instructions are so easy to follow I don't think you can go wrong.

Eve

Hi Eve,thats great,I will clarify with Vivien about the students gallery as they all have £ signs next to them and a couple say sold, though there is no actual price for you to see.
I would be over the moon if it did sell but I want to keep the original as I am so pleased with it!.
It's very interesting that we are all following the same instructions yet each one has distinct diffrences from all the others,I whent ahead and used the pastels that Vivien had suggested,(conte soft pastels)as I have never used them before, and I just love them.
I will be finishing of the collie today, and am looking forward to seeing your'version of the tabby cat
Here is my e.mail hun.
min_codford@live.co.uk
kind regards,
KAREN.
