I've never done any printing before but was tempted by monoprinting - has anyone tried this with acrylic paints - I don't want to use oils - need to stick with water-based paints. Also what do I use to hand press the print - I don't have a press and I have a little arthritis in my hands/wrists. Any advice / comments from printers would be appreciated. Thanks Sharon I

hi sharon, i've done monoprinting with children using poster paints. Trouble with acrylics is that they dry quick, so you could use something that is added which delays drying. (I can't remember what it is called , but it can be found at any art supplier. I didn't need a press just hand pressure. also you could use a wooden spoon or metal tablespoon, taking care not to move the paper about. hope this is of some help Enjoy, it is very satisfying.

Hi Margaret will try it with my acrylics, you can get mediums to slow down the drying time. Now I just need to keep my cats out of the way! Sharon

Hi Sharon - I would recommend you use water-based printing ink. That works very well. Anne
