Hi, I am a realtive newcomer to watercolour and am hoping to do some painting while on holiday on a Greek island in early July when it will be very hot - I'm not sure whether to add Ox Gall or Blending Medium to my water to stop paint drying too fast. I would be grateful for advice. Many thanx, Julia

Hi Julia, I live in Spain and at the moment it is very hot.I paint mostly in watercolour and find it very exciting to work in 15 or 30 minute sessions. It makes me force myself to not be so criticle about my work and as the paint dries so fast it makes it easier to build up colours on the paper. The wet on wet technique is great aswell and the texture and shapes are amazing so just keep natural and make yourself work quicker. ps I think blending mixture is for acrylics
