Antarctica - Life on the ice - 22 February - 12 March 2010

This is such an amazing opportunity for us to paint the wildest and most extreme and beautiful areas on earth.

Can you join us? In February 2010, there are seven of us painters so far travelling to the Antarctic, so we will make a fun group of artists on the expedition ship that has a maximum of 100 guests in total. The ship is great fun and has a very friendly atmosphere, you will get to know all the fascinating people on board. I will help you with the sketching and painting, giving tuition and advice on your work.

Non-painters are also very welcome to join the group.

There are plenty of opportunities to paint when we're on land walking amongst the penguin and seal colonies, or when we're sitting on those dramatic beaches with staggering views of cliffs and glaciers and glassy waters. We also sketch wildlife and seascapes from the zodiacs as we cruise around the bays. On board ship we have lots of time for working up sketches, as well as attending the programme of lectures and making the most of all the delicious 3-course meals we are offered by the ships astounding chefs.

This is the second Art Safari voyage I have led down to the Antarctic, it is truly an incredible and inspiring place.
