I find it exasperating that different manufacturers call the same colour by different names. The problem is that each DVD/Book author uses their own particular colour and then I have to consider if I have that colour and, if so, is it right! I can ususally get it about right but not always. Is there a simple list of equivalents anywhere?

I too have this same problem. For example Winsor blue Green shade I have worked out that Saa own brand Nordic blue seem to be the same it is so confusing. Some one did advise to look at the backs of the tubes and compare what is in them but that just takes me away from actual painting and that is what I want to do but it would help if there was somewhere you could compare like for like and not end up with endless tubes of colour because you are trying out yet another artists suggested colours to do their exercise.
