On some of my Teaching art videos some Artists talk about Watercolour Paper in grams and some in Ilbs, is there a chart you could send me with Grams to Pounds equiverlant for a basic range of paper as I am trying all different grades to see which is best for me thank you.

Paper weights and sizes are a confusion thanks to us going metric, however as a guide the main watercolour paper weights are:
280gsm = 130lb. 300gsm = 140lbs. 425gsm = 200lbs. 640gsm = 300lbs.
for most people 280gsm is fine for watercolour.
Paper finishes.
Hot pressed = very smooth. Rough = rough and NOT is in between them and the most popular finish.
Paper sizes. Full imperial = 560 x 760mm (22 x 30") Half Imperial = 560 x 380mm (22 x 15") Quarter Imperial = 280 x 380mm (11 x 15")
Quarter imperial is a good size to start with.
happy painting

John
