I'm using pastel pencil but my dog appears to be too brown I need him to more red brown and am not sure how to give his coat shine.any suggestions please?

I have just completed a chocolate labrador as a private commission, you can see it in the entries for the artist of the year 2011. I used a very pale pink and a very pale blue to give the shine to the coat and thought it worked well.
