The hardest part of painting for me is getting a sketch on paper to paint it! How does one use tracing paper? I can't see how the image traced can be put on to paper or canvas board.

June Crawshaw replies: Use an HB pencil to trace the sketch onto the tracing paper. Next, make your own 'carbon paper'. Take a sheet of thin layout or typing paper and with 2b pencil heavily shade an area large enough to cover your whole sketch. Place the shaded side down on the paper you wish to transfer your sketch to. Then put your traced drawing on top of this and draw over it, pressing firmly with a hard pencil (a 6h is best) to transfer it to your painting paper.
