The Ashdown Arts Christmas Show is delivering an even bigger surprise than usual this year. Not only will there be many wonderful artists and artisans offering a wide variety of fantastic and unique creations (all perfect Christmas presents), but there will be something else... never seen in the UK before, The Pink Tent, an Aladdin’s cave of feminine surprises, is previewing here right on your doorstep.
The Pink Tent Installation conjures up a divinely luxurious sacred space where people can have a creative, sensual, informative and transformative felt experience of the Feminine. And even men are welcome and encouraged to enter the tent!
The Pink Tent explores what it is to be a woman in our western culture. It is a celebration of all things feminine. It allows women – and men – to expand their self awareness of who they are within the context our culture.
The Installation is being supported by several organisations including Woman’s Aid. We will be raising money during the weekend for their wonderful work in all areas of women’s issues. It's an invitation for women and men of all ages to experience something distinctly different.
The Christmas Show as a whole will be provocative and a delight to the senses. The artwork on show is of a very high standard. Many of the 30 exhibiting artists and craftspeople are full-time professionals who regularly exhibit their work in galleries in London and overseas, including Italy, Bali and France and featured in articles. At least three prize-winners will be exhibiting at the fair too.
Ashdown Forest really is the place to find quality artists of all shapes and sizes – contemporary, traditional, figurative, mixed media…you name it. And the Christmas Show guarantees the opportunity for you to pick up their top quality work at an affordable local price.
Fair dates: Saturday & Sunday 26th & 27th November from 10am to 5pm.
Private view: Friday 25th from 6.30-8.30pm. Entrance and parking is free.
Fair venue: The Peter Griffits Hall, Lewes Road, Forest Row, East Sussex, RH18 5ES. The hall is opposite the Esso garage and Tesco.
