Have you attended an SAA exhibition or show, enjoyed a workshop or demonstration with a professional artist you have met through the SAA, or perhaps you have joined an affiliated group? Alternatively have you been inspired to enter any of the competitions in Paint or has it encouraged you to submit work to an exhibition?
We would love to see your photos and paintings and to discover the inspiration behind them. Images can be photos or paintings of anything inspired by the SAA, with comments to explain the link. Competition is open until: Sunday 01 September, 2013

SAA Challenge - 2013 - Abstract Thinking
Whether you love it or loathe it, you cannot ignore abstract art. It is an art form that moves away from traditional attempts to depict reality, and aims to grab your attention and bring out an emotional response in you.
Once you've had a go at this year's Challenge, do write and let us know how you got on, and send us your finished work. Were you daunted by the prospect before you started? Was it as difficult as you expected? Was it liberating to be able to work outside traditional boundaries and limitations when you created your painting, or is it something you hated and will never want to try again?
