TAC was founded in 1948 to encourage artists - of all backgrounds and levels of experience - to develop their potential by holding practical sessions both in the studio and outdoors, demonstrations, lectures and critiques and by staging exhibitions of members' work. Sculptors and ceramicists, as well as painters, are very welcome. The emphasis in all of the Circle's activities is on a friendly and informal atmosphere.
Full information on current activities and on joining and membership fees is given on the Circle's website.
Information
The Circle was formed in 1948 to encourage artists - of all backgrounds and levels of experience - to develop their potential by holding practical sessions and exhibitions of members' work. Membership is currently around 120.
Our Winter Programme runs from October to March when we meet once or twice a month on a Saturday afternoon to paint or draw still life or the human figure in the studio. Several demonstrations or tutored sessions by professional artists or teachers are normally included and an annual critique of members' work is also held.
In the summer we meet fortnightly on a Saturday morning to paint or draw the landscape at various local outdoor locations.
We hold at least one exhibition each year allowing members to exhibit and sell their works. Additionally, members may submit works to exhibitions sponsored by artsrichmond (Richmond upon Thames Arts Council) to which TAC is affiliated.
Sculptors and ceramicists, as well as painters, are very welcome. The emphasis in all of the Circle's activities is on a friendly and informal atmosphere.
