Trevor achieves his atmospheric and inspiring paintings by following five main techniques – large washes, wet-into-wet, soft darks/hard lights, bold brushwork and transparency.
Demonstrating the techniques before bringing them into context with a painting, he will help you to gain a thorough understanding of not only how, but why you would use the washes to good effect in your work.
Part 2
Trevor uses a very limited palette for most of his paintings, preferring to mix colours. He takes a comprehensive look at various aspects of colour – including choosing a colour scheme, the colour wheel and the different qualities of colour.
Whether it be colour mixing or composition, Trevor leaves nothing to chance as he seems determined to make us all better painters by improving our techniques and knowledge too.
