Trudy Friend is a popular artist who has been teaching for many years. During the course of her teaching career, she has seen all the common difficulties faced by beginners and has devised a unique problem-solving method to overcome them.

In her book, Trudy covers 12 popular themes, such as landscapes, gardens, buildings and portraits. For each theme, she illustrates common mistakes and offers simple techniques and solutions to create more authentic results. At the end of each theme, she combines all the different techniques into a complete drawing to illustrate what can be achieved using her methods.
