Biography
A Devonian by birth, Wendy is an artist inspired by nature. Artists she cites as being influential to her work include Roger Dean, Arthur Rackham, Quentin Blake and Lars Jonssen.
Subject matter for Wendy's work has in the past been varied and diverse: from architectural ruins to vegetables; cars to sea shells, although she is now concentrating mainly on birds.
Whilst continually experimenting with new ways of working, Wendy presently works primarily in acrylics for larger pieces and graphite, coloured pencil and pen & ink for smaller to medium sized pieces.
A keen musician, Wendy plays guitar, mandolin and piano and has recently taken up the violin, passing her Grade 1 exam with merit (in her mid-forties!)
Exhibitions
Wendy has exhibited only twice in her career, concentrating instead on creating a body of diverse work, while also undertaking commissions. Her most recent exhibition was held during Devon's Nine Days of Art event in September 2005.
