Tuition
I prefer to teach students on an individual basis as it is far less daunting, especially for beginners. My student is always delighted with the finished painting, as I have a hands on approach to painting and teaching and give assistance from beginning to end.

Biography
I am a self-taught artist who from an early age spent many an hour drawing and painting her beloved four legged friends.
In my teens my parents emigrated to Africa and I spent many years living in a land which captured my heart with its beauty and which helped me develop a sincere appreciation for the African wilderness and its beautiful wildlife.
Many years later when I returned to live in England I had this tremendous urge to become an artist, start learning to paint seriously and develop this hidden talent. I attended some pastel art workshops and undertook a great deal of research by way of the internet and books, looking for techniques and tips in order to develop my talent. I tried different mediums but kept on returning to pastels and realised eventually that this was the medium for me. I wanted to paint animals that were real, so real you wanted to stroke them and I found this in pastels. I believe realism is very important when you are commissioned to paint a portrait of a client's beloved pet especially if the pet has passed on.
I have recently begun to do some teaching and the results have been amazing – I have some very happy students who are realising their dream to paint.
