Trudy is a qualified art teacher and has been running art holiday breaks for nearly 20 years, initially in North Devon and now in Monmouthshire in her studio. She gives talks/demonstrations and workshops to art groups and societies and demonstrates the use of water soluble pencils for DERWENT at various venues. Her five 'Problems and Solutions' books often form the basis of her courses and postal tuition lessons and she is happy to help at any level, from absolute beginners to more experienced artists.

Biography
TUTOR
Trudy studied at Margate School of Art and Canterbury College of Art in Kent before attending Brighton College of Art to attain her teaching degree. She taught Art and Craft up to ‘O' and ‘A' level GCE in Secondary Modern and Technical High Schools in Dover, Folkestone and Maidstone, Kent – and evening classes for adults.
She then gave private tuition and painted Artwork on a variety of subjects and in various media for Television South, Greetings Cards including one for the Medici Society, EMI Record Tokens, Clover Leaf Table Mats and Agricultural catalogues, post cards etc.
She has produced illustrations for children's books as well as undertaking private commissions together with exhibiting framed work in various galleries – some of which has gone abroad.
Trudy gives workshops and talks to Art Societies and taught at the Arts Centre in Bideford, when she and Michael ran Smithy Art Holidays in Devon for 12 years.
Trudy has written and illustrated seven instructional drawing and painting ‘Problems and Solutions' books for David & Charles:
Drawing Watercolours Landscape Animals and Flowers
and she offers correspondence courses based upon these books as well as ‘one off' lessons through the post to help with specific problems.
She particularly enjoys helping beginners and improvers to solve their drawing and painting problems – also encouraging the development of new ideas and techniques.
Trudy is now offering 2's Company Art Breaks - individually or with a friend - in her studio in the beautiful Wye Valley, Nr Chepstow in Monmouthshire.
