Tuition

Demonstrations and Workshops are arranged by appointment.
Demonstrations are usually of 2 hour duration and I charge £75 plus travel allowance if over 25 miles from Tetbury, Glos.
Workshops usually cover 6 hours and £175 plus travel allowance is charged.

Painting holidays in France, Porgtugal and Italy and UK

Tetbury Monday Artists - £65 per term or £7.50 per session. 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm.
St. Michael's church hall, Silver Street, Tetbury. Please do ring or email for vacancies.

Individual tuition can be given by request. Small private groups (4-8)can be arranged if required.

 

Biography

SUE TOWNSEND
I run local painting groups and during the summer take day excursions to local beauty spots and country houses.

I exhibit locally and nationally and have exhibited abroad in France, Majorca and Malta. My customers are from many different countries including the USA.

My travels give me the opportunity for renewed inspiration. I take painting groups to France, Italy and the UK.

My work is contemporary and impressionistic and is full of colour and light. The subjects I paint are varied and depend more on what attracts me in the first place rather than any particular theme. I delight in projects and doing journals of my travels.

Commissions for portraits of people, family groups, houses and pets are undertaken from customer's favourite photographs but where possible I like to visit the subject to get the atmosphere and feeling for the subject.

 

Exhibitions

Tetbury, Gloucestershire.
I run annual exhibitions in the Market Hall in Tetbury, the delightful Cotswold town near to Westonbirt Arboretum and the country home of HRH The Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall. Westonbirt Oak Hall, Malmesbury and other locations in the UK.
