Sheila Bury is a local artist who lives and works by the River Don in South Yorkshire. Sheila established her business in 1987, initially using her narrow-boat, the 'Sprotbro' Painter' as a gallery for the sale of her original paintings.
Sheila draws her inspiration from the surrounding countryside in the Don Gorge, which has great natural beauty, where birds and wildlife abound, and which provides stunning views all year round and in all seasons.
Sheila Bury paints in oils, watercolour and acrylics and exhibits her work locally two or three times a year. She will also undertake private commissions for paintings. Portraits of house and garden, river craft, pets and favourite holiday landscapes are among the subjects previously commissioned.
Commissions can be worked from photographs - either personal or taken by the artist as desired. While most previous commissions have centred on the South Yorkshire area Sheila is happy to travel further afield if necessary.
