Shirley Henderson
Born in the North East of England I have always loved drawing and painting since a child.I moved to the South East of England in 1990 and lived there for 12 years. In 2002 I made the decision to become a professional artist and moved north of the border to Scotland where I currently live with my husband and border collie dog Gem( who is also the artists favourite model).
In my quest to become a better artist I attended workshops and courses to learn as much as possible. I discovered the world of colour pencil in 2001 and I joined the UK Colour Pencil Society I have been a member since. Colour Pencil is the medium I choose the most. I am now also producing work in graphite pencil, and sometimes watercolour. But the humble pencil is still my first choice.
