Biography

Sandra Peck

Watercolour Artist

(Specialising in Flowers)

Sandra Peck was born and brought up on a farm in Broughton, Northamptonshire and now lives in Spalding, Lincs. After trying various different mediums, she became enchanted by watercolours and all the glorious possibilities that they offered. With lots of enthusiasm and constant experimentation she developed her own technique of controlled wet into wet, which works particularly well on petals. Colours are allowed to mix on the paper, with attention to every brush stroke, giving an illusion of sparkling light, graceful form and a three dimensional quality.

She portrays a similar grace and beauty in her life drawings.

Her first solo exhibition was in 1988, since then she has taken part in many solo and mixed exhibitions, including the annual show of the Society of Botanical Artists at the Westminster Gallery, London.

There is an ever-increasing demand for Sandra's detailed watercolour workshops and demonstrations. These are held regularly in Spalding, Wisbech, Market Deeping and here in Boston at Blackfriars Arts Centre. For the past 6 years she has also been Resident Artist at Barnsdale Gardens in Rutland, which were created by Geoff Hamilton for BBC's Gardener's World and provide wonderful scope for floral and landscape painting days.
