Born in London, Ruth showed an early interest in drawing and painting. Family life took her to the Middle East, Africa and Bermuda, where the vivid colours of the sea and flowers inspired her to take up oil painting.
Good tutorage from outstanding painters both in classes and workshops developed her skills further. Now her watercolours have a spontenaiety and liveliness and her pastels of children and animals, a softness and accuracy.
She also specialises in miniatures of children and silhouettes.
Acrylics are a recent development which allow greater freedom of expression. Her favourite subjects are colourful market scenes, seascapes, flowers, portraits and animals.
Ruth now lives in Calne, Wiltshire, and has exhibited in the South of England for the last 20 years in local and national open exhibitions.
