Biography

I am based in beautiful north Staffordshire, close to the Peak District. Most of my working week is spent teaching six painting groups either in my home village or at Derrington, near Stafford. I particularly love this type of work as not only do I get to see and appreciate the progress my students make, but I also enjoy the regular contact with like minded people.
The rest of my week is spent either teaching from my studio in Foxt, running workshops/demonstrations to groups further afield or writing articles for painting magazines. All this, plus occasional weeks abroad teaching in lovely places like France and the Isle of Skye (2012)makes for a very busy life and I count myself fortunate to be making my living doing something I love.

 

Exhibitions

As an amateur artist, I was encouraged by sucessfully having paintings selected for the Staffordshire Open and the Royal Birmiongham Society of Artists Open Exhibitions in 1996,1997 and 1998.
Following several solo exhibitions at local veniues, I had my first major exhibition at Inverbeg Galleries, Loch Lomond in 1999.
In recent years, I have opted to show my work from my studio, rather than exhibit. Anyone is welcome to visit, by appointment - please ring 01538 260007.
