Tuition

I run workshops from my home in Oxhey, Watford in the spring, summer and autumn.

The spring and autumn workshops are 'paint-along' in style and are suitable for beginners as well as more experienced students. Afternoon workshops take up to nine students at a time. Media is watercolour based and sometimes includes other media.

Recent themes include:'Spring Landscape & Summer Landscape', 'Colour, Creativity & Cling Film'. Workshops focus on use of media, composition, brushwork, colour mixing etc to give the student a broader base from which to work.

Summer workshops are held in the garden (weather permitting). Tuition is on a one-to-one basis. The students choose their own subject matter from the garden and a range of media is available to try in addition to the students' own usual media.

I am an experienced demonstrator to art clubs and societies and also run workshops for societies. Some recent demonstrations include: Beechwood Artists, Amersham, Hughenden Art Group, Ickenham Art Society, Harpenden Art Society, St. Paul's Art Group, St. Albans.
Demonstrations available in Herts, Middx & Bucks & Beds.

Biography

I was born in Enfield Middx. My childhood garden and cycle rides into the surrounding countryside gave me the love of nature that is at the heart of my work.
From my sea faring Grandfather I inherited my deep feelings for the sea and boats. I became “ hooked ” on watercolour over twenty years ago. I now enjoy using a range of media including monoprint,oils & acrylic paints. I also sculpt in clay from life & imagination.

Exhibitions

'Open Studio' with Herts Visual Arts in September. Dates: Saturdays 10th, 17th & 24th September & 1st October, 2011. On show will be COLOURFUL PAINTINGS IN VARIOUS MEDIA: LANDSCAPES, SEASCAPES, FLOWERS, GARDENS etc. LIFE DRAWINGS & HOLIDAY SKETCHBOOKS, also HANDCRAFTED & PRINTED CARDS & CALENDARS. Stoneward-fired ceramic & nature-inspired fun wire-sculpture trail in the pretty cottage garden. Demonstrations given & participation welcome!
