Ian, a self taught artist, has been working in pastel since 1990. Through sheer frustration Ian threw his first set of pastels into the dustbin when he felt he couldn't get to grips with this messy medium. Encouraged by a patient evening class tutor (and his wife, who retrieved his pastels from the dustbin) Ian persevered and now has hundreds of private commissions to his credit, with paintings throughout the UK, Canada and New Zealand.
Ian enjoys "giving something back" by promoting the use of pastels in schools, colleges, Art societies, etc, and believes anyone can produce "frameable" artwork using pastels, given correct guidance.
Ian travels Nationwide giving tuition to adults and children, including learning difficulties/mental health groups etc. References available and CRB documents by request.
