Alanda J Calmus
I can offer teaching in drawing skills, portraiture, painting people, landscapes, animals, still life. The media I use are pastels, graphite, charcoal, acrylics and water soluble oils.
I am able to offer residential painting holidays in picturesque Scotland that include activities for non-painting guests.
As a child, I was always happiest whilst being creative whether it be drawing or painting or making things out of cardboard and plasticine, so when I left school I studied graphics and art and then became employed as a graphic designer and illustrator. I continued to use my artistic abilities throughout my often varied career but in 2002 I turned my hand to portrait painting and started my own business as a professional artist. Although I specialise in portraiture or people and pets, my illustrative background enables me to paint most subjects, including landscapes, buildings, automobiles, etc. Since becoming a professional artist I have taught art classes for children and adults, run workshops from my own studio and demonstrated for several art groups. Please contact me for details.
