Tuition
I offer Painting Holidays in the South of France. Sally and I run a Painting Holiday Centre in our own home in the 13th Century town of Lodeve. Sally is Cordon Blue trained ( that's why I'm on a diet ) and I have a B.Ed., and an M.Ed., and some ( too many )years experience as a teacher and full-time painter.
I work on( and sell ) paintings in watercolour, acrylic, pastel and oils so feel I can teach others to use them too. I draw every day.
Even though I say it myself, I'm damned good mainly because I love doing it

Biography
David McEwen began studying art formally at the age of thirteen, when Victor Pasmore accepted him into a special class at the King's College, Newcastle-upon-Tyne. There he spent one year drawing and the next year starting to understand the use of colour. After more years of training, David qulified as a teacher, with a B.Ed., and M.Ed., and became head of art at a school in the Midlands. After fifteen years teaching both children and adults, he decided to go "full time" and during the next couple of years he completed a huge amount of commissions, many for international equestrian sports men and women.
In 1977 David and his wife Sally moved to the Languedoc in the South of France to open a painting holiday centre in their riverside home in the ancient town of Lodeve. Since then over 50 nationalities have been looked after by Sally and taught by David. Even though he devotes a lot of time to his students, he still has time to complete international commissions and paint for exhibitions and competitions. In 2003 he was a runner-up in S.A.A.'s "Painter of the Year". His work has been published in a number of magazines and he has demonstrated at the Artist and Illustrators Exhibition. Following an invitation from the Falkland Island Government, David spent two years producing work for exhibitions in London and Stanley. He has taught, demonstrated and exhibited twice in San Diego, California and has recently completed a series of demonstrations in Florida. He is represented by The Dog and Horse Gallery in Charleston, South Carolina and is working on a series of paintings for a major exhibition there in October of 2011.
He believes in Sally, Hogwarts, Narnia and the Disc World and his dogs like him.
