Biography
Born in North-West London, Derek is self-taught and has a strong interest in all aspects of art. He has travelled extensively but found his artistic feet travelling in Spain, in a ancient Morris Minor and more recently, he has even painted the Karnak Temple from an air balloon!
Derek has painted many species of animals, from cheetahs to elephants, for several publishing companies and his work has been distributed around the world. He also paints landscapes, seascapes and portraits and has sold many of these paintings in the UK, mainly through his solo art exhibitions. He has enjoyed teaching his painting techniques to a variety of individuals and classes for several years.
Derek is currently working on international Rock and Pop icons and his work can be seen at a London exhibition; the dates and times for this will be published on this website next year.

Exhibited in Newcastle,Bedfordshire,London.Solo exhibition in bedfordshire was exclusive to wildlife which took place 2004 titled "A WALK ON THE WILDSIDE" was a complete sellout.
Awards
Awarded best picture 2001 in the Roland wildlife competition Newcastle.
