Biography

Monika was born in Italy and she had studied art ever since. After she graduated at the "Accademia di Belle Arti" decided to continue to study and she took a MA in Painting restoration. Later she took a PG in Japanese and Korean art in London, where she actually lives and works. She has just completed a Research degree in Fine art (MA by project) with a project on “nature and the rituals of gesture” through the expression of Zen brushwork and she works as a professional artist and tutor. She participated to various exhibitions, had solo exhibitions in Germany, Italy and England and won few prizes. Lately, she is been selected for a show in Berlin following a competition and her work will also be published on an international art book and art dictionary.

 

Exhibitions

The Long Conversation: Poetry and Painting
coincides with the Waltham Forest Literature Festival. For this exhibition
artists have interpreted the long-standing relationship between
the written word and visual art, in the broadest terms. Poetry that paints a picture,
paintings that are full of poetry, text-based work, artists’ books,
sound installations, photography, printmaking,sculpture are all included.
There will be a display of books to read.
Opening party:
May 23rd 7-10pm to coincide with the WFAC monthly meeting
Exhibition:
May 24th - 28th
6-8pm Tuesday, 6-10pm Wed. to Friday, 10am –10pm on Saturday
