Michele Field
Welcome to my art world, hope you will enjoy browsing through my website pages.
SELF-TAUGHT ARTIST
Over the years I have become a well established Oxfordshire artist.
The subjects I most enjoy painting are Canals, Waterways, Landscapes, Pet Portraits and I have a passion to paint large vibrant floral canvases mainly in acrylic paints.
I also love getting my easel out side on a sunny day & just have fun splashing paint around on a large canvas to produce an abstract painting for a change.
I have been painting since a very young and now devote much time to this.
Over the years I have held many solo exhibitions and can proudly proclaim that my work can be seen in homes across the U K, over seas and as far away as Down Under.
Much of my inspiration comes from what I see on my door step, Oxfordshire waterways & woodland scenes are wonderful subject to paint with all the changing colours of the seasons. Flowers in my garden is a great sauce of inspiration.
HIGHLIGHTS
In 1998 I Joined the Guild of Waterway Artists, the group have a shared interest in painting canals, rivers and waterways. We exhibited together at canal events & venues like the Braunston Historic Working Boat Rally show held every year in June.
I have now been exhibiting at ORH hospitals since 2000.
Judging from feed back from visitors, patients and staff my work has brought much pleasure to many people over the years. I like to think my art work will help to up lift peoples spirits and give them a feel good factor.
The John Radcliffe Anglers Society purchased one of my paintings as their trophy instead of a cup one year, it depicted a spot on the Oxford canal where they still fish.
THE BIGGEST COMPLEMENT anyone has given me, has to be from the Banbury Horton Hospital who have a large permanent display of my new style contemporary canvases which are much admired and help cheer people up. Art in hospitals is much appreciated.
MOST FAMOUS CUSTOMER as far as I know is singer Paul Weller, who bought one of my Oxford Canal paintings.
OTHER PROUD MOMENTS & HAPPENINGS
Three of my paintings of Oxford were presented by my parents to the town of Geel in Belgium to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the liberation during the second world war.
One of my blue bell wood paintings hangs in Kensington Central Library London in memory of ‘Tess Allen'.
In the past I have donated paintings to local Kidlington village charity's, these include the Royal British Legion, Kidlington Church Spire appeal & Oxfordshire Hospitals. Maggie's.
Many of my designs have been used for charity cards some of these include Cancer Research UK at the Churchill Hospital.
In 2007 Oxfordshire charity Sobell House launched a large range of cards using 14 of my paintings. Did that one in memory of my dear mum.
