Michele Field
Welcome to my art world, hope you will enjoy browsing through my website pages.
SELF-TAUGHT ARTIST
Over the years I have become a well established artist in Oxfordshire, specialising in Canals, Waterways, Landscapes, Pet Portraits, Flowers and modern art working in acrylic paints. I have always loved to paint and take my art work seriously and devote much time to my work.
I have held many solo exhibitions and can proudly proclaim that my work can be seen in homes both in the U K, Europe and across the world.
Much of my inspiration comes from what I see on my door step, Oxfordfordshire waterways & woodland scenes are wonderful subject to paint with all the changing colours of the seasons. Flowers in my garden is a great sauce of inspiration.
CAREER EXTRACTS AND HIGHLIGHTS
In 1998 I became a member of the Guild of Waterway Artists, the group have an interested in painting canals, rivers and waterways. Since joining the group we have exhibited together at many canal events and venues.
Some of my paintings of Oxford were presented by my parents to the town of Geel in Belgium to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the liberation during the second world war.
The John Radcliffe Anglers Society purchased a painting as their trophy instead of a cup, it depicted a spot on the Oxford canal where they still fish.
One of my paintings hangs in Kensington Central Library London in memory of ‘Tess Allen'.
In the past I have donated paintings to local Kidlington village charity's, some of these include the Royal British Legion, Kidlington Church Spire appeal & Oxfordshire Hospitals.
Many of my designs are used for charity cards including two Xmas cards for Cancer Research UK at the Churchill Hospital.
In 2007 Oxfordshire charity Sobell House launched a range of cards including two xmas cards, calendars, etc using 14 of my paintings. Did that one in memory of my dear mum.
IWA have used a number of my designs over the years for Xmas cards.
Won the peoples vote online vote for the month of MAY for My Arts Space calendar competition 2007.
MOST FAMOUS CUSTOMER as far as I know is singer Paul Weller, who bought one of my Oxford Canal paintings.
THE BIGGEST COMPLEMENT anyone has given me, has to be from the Horton Hospital in Banbury who have a large permanent display of my new style contemporary canvases which are much admired and help cheer people up. Art in hospitals is much appreciated.
My work has appeared in many canal, boating, art & craft national magazines also local Oxfordshire papers and on the box on Water World and Oxford TV also had intervews on local radio stations.
