I offer 1 day Workshops based on demand. These workshops are open and the idea is that you chose your subject and we work towards what you want to achieve with your own idea. If you are a bit blocked then I have plenty of ideas to get you going again. We will look at composition, colour,techniques and play with ideas until you are inspired enough to carry on. I also encourage you to create sketchbooks and give you ideas of the sort of things to do to create your own book of information that you can refer to always. Biography
I have painted for many years and use all media except oil paints (due to health problems). I love to use watercolour and Acrylics but my most recent love is Collage. I create most of my own collage papers using Acrylic paints on paper. I spend hours planning images and create collage papers to suit. Depending on my subject at the time I look to include other materials such as card, punchinella, scrim, fabrics, beads, sequins, threads etc. My home is full of items and objects that other people collect for me. I collect old cards and make paper from them. My work is inspired by a response to visual stimulus which is met randomly. the primary sources of this inspiration are colour and texture and the ability these have to generate a response in the viewer, and an ability to engage the inner emotions through their own experience. My work has inspired others to such an extent that I now run open workshops from my home in Lincolnshire. Day classes and residential weekends are offered. The tuition is stimulating and will inspire all of those attending. I have a friendly and empathetic approach that will encourage all. My depth of understanding of techniques and ability to teach and demonstrate will enable great progress to be made. For more information visit: www.artfortheloveofit.com
It is a fact that many of my students of all ages) have progressed in leaps and bounds, achieving more in a few days than they have in many years, much to their delight.
Exhibitions
I am a member of ART ON THE MAP Lincolnshire, Wolds and Coast Cluster Group. This is a group of approx 100 Professional Lincolnshire artists and craftspeople who open there workshops to the public once per year. During 2011 my studio is open from 10.30 - 4.30 each day from 11th May - 15th May inclusive. Please feel free to come as it is designed to give the public the opportunity to view finished works as well as work in progress.
