I was born on the 14th of December 1972 in Crewe, Cheshire. My first obsession was computer games and during my childhood years constructed a logcal mind to analyze and create software.
In my 20's I spent a long time meditating and uncovered a second personality of flair and passion, useless for computer programming but important for art. My logical side and passionate side now work as two and as one, to create tight detail and expressive flair as each effect is required.
I first started to paint in August 2004, and now paint with oils using classical techniques, painting with the most beautiful media in multiple layers. The quality of the idea and content (the soul) of a painting is most important, but the body, the quality of appearance is important too. A great work must excell in both.
From the outset my paintings were symbolic and partly surreal. I think the key to creative expression is a balance between the conscious and sub-conscious mind. Surreal images are funny, dark, joyous, deep, and everything else that life is because the brain itself operates on such images, efficiently conveying and processing complex ideas in the form of images. The subject is everything. The subject creates value. A good painting should be evocative, beautiful and unforgettable.
