Biography
Lynn Norris
I am an artist based in Coddington, Newark on Trent, Nottinghamshire.
I have been painting and drawing since I was child, my parents would say it was an easy hobby to encourage given it was cheap and kept me quiet for hours. After leaving school I was lucky enough to study my passion at both college and university.
I have a fine art degree and have tried varied mediums and subjects, including printmaking. In recent years I have enjoyed painting in watercolour the most, this medium allows me to express, great light, colour and atmosphere in my paintings, but most of all I enjoy the unpredictable nature and the creation of a unique piece of work every time.
For many years I have painted as a hobby, exhibiting and selling work with Newark Art Club and Carlton Le Moorland Art Club and had a full time career in IT, but after recovering from Thyroid cancer last year I decided to follow my passion become a professional artist and tutor.
I am running Friday morning art classes in Coddington Village Hall and have a series of day workshops available to learn to paint in my style. I also undertake commissions regularly and sell greetings cards and prints of my work.
