I was born in Manchester.
After completing a degree in Graphic Design at Brighton Art College I worked as a freelance illustrator.
In 1992 I studied teaching at West Sussex Institue of Higher Education and obtained a PGCE. I extended my teaching qualifications by achieving a further education teaching certificate (C & G 7307) at South Downs College where I have worked teaching Drawing and Painting for 15 years. I have also been an Internal Moderator for the college.
At the end of 2003 I was elected as a full member of the Society of Floral Painters. I exhibit with the Society at Mottisfont Abbey (June) and Sir Harold Hillier Gardens (November). I am no longer a member of that Society.
I exhibited 'Guzmania Torch' at the Botanical Artists Exhibition at Westminster Gallery 2007. I had four paintings in the SBA exhibition in London 2010.
I have completed the SBA Diploma with credit, April 2008.
