Biography
From an early age, Kat Davies was fascinated by the wild. As an infant, she lived in Gibraltar and her earliest memories are of sights, sounds and smells far more exotic than those of her native country in England. Because of its close proximity to North Africa, the influence of that beautiful country and its flora and fauna was inevitable. Whilst art had always been a fascination for Kat as a child, particularly as her mother had been an artist at Royal Crown Derby, it was only as a young woman and back in the United Kingdom that she took up her art seriously and within a few years began to forge a career in wildlife art, with her passion for conservation and love of animals at the heart of every piece of work. Kat enjoys memberships with Marwell International Wildlife Art Society, the Pastel Guild of Europe and the Society of Feline Artists. She has had three successful solo exhibitions, distributes her work through both online and traditional galleries, and her paintings are now in private collections all around the world, from friends, to art collectors, to celebrities – each ‘making animal art come alive'.
