Biography
Jim has been interested in art from an early age, his father was an art tutor at Birmingham University, however, he did not pursue this career professionally and joined the Police Force at 16 years of age.
During his career it was not too long before his drawing abilities were used to formulate artist impressions of suspects, later his abilities were used in relation to plan drawings and graphics. Jim began to draw his colleagues in caricature form and the drawings soon became in demand for retirements and other celebrations.
Upon retirement he realised it was now time to pursue art as a professional career. Jim's work was displayed and sold in local galleries and exhibitions. His commissions comprised mainly of pastel portraiture subjects.
Jim then took an art and teaching qualification as he had always enjoyed working with people and believes that everyone has the ability to draw and paint.
