Silk Painting and Batik at Sneaton Castle
12th to 16th July 25th to 29th October 1st to 5th November
Residential classes are now available for three dates as above. The courses are ideal for beginners and improvers with a special topic each day including Shibori, scarves, discharging onto velvet and others. After class times the workshop will be open for you to paint to your hearts content. Basic materials including frames and brushes are available to borrow and basic supplies will be provided throughout the course.
Other materials available if/when required. I can guarantee that even seasoned silk painters will learn a few new tricks! We use only steam fix dyes and all items including scarves are fixed during the week. The cost for the week is £240. This is on a half board basis and inclusive of basic materials. One morning is left free for you to have a leisurely breakfast and maybe a trip into town.
En-suite rooms are available if booked early. Please add £32.00 per week. Plus single person supplement of £10 per night. The centre boasts fabulous views of the Whitby countryside and sea, comfortable rooms above the workshop (which will be open until 8.30pm each night). With a refectory, bar, common rooms and a shop it is the ideal place to relax and soak up the surroundings and only a few minutes from Whitby town centre.
Non-residential places £145, inclusive of basic materials. There are restricted places this year with a maximum of 8 residential and 4 non residential per course. To get your name on the list please ask for a booking form and brochure.

ASKHAM BRYAN COLLEGE BEDALE AND GUISBOROUGH
City & Guilds (24 weeks) and NCFE Foundation (12 weeks) Intermediate and Advanced (24 weeks) courses in Silk Painting and Batik and Textile Decoration.
Minimum writing, maximum painting. No previous painting skills needed. Courses start in Sept and finish in April/May. My aim is to make the courses as enjoyable as possible. In my opinion you come to learn to paint, not write essays so that is kept to a minimum, promise!

EASTER AT FARFIELD MILL GALLERY, SEDBERGH
KIMONO THE ART OF PAINTING ON SILK

I’m delighted to have been asked to put on another exhibition at Farfield Mill this Easter. I will be exhibiting this years new work as well as doing several drop in workshops over the Easter weekend where you can have a go for as little as £1. ALL ages from 3yrs + can try out this fabulous painting and take home a masterpiece. You can see some of my Kimono collection and a find out more about these exquisite garments.
Farfield Mill has a fabulous gallery of painting, sculpture, jewellery and textiles. Spend the whole day there, plus a coffee shop to die for! If you can try the teacakes!
