Biography

I was born in N Yorkshire and spent my early years enjoying the moors and coasts. Trained at the Slade School of Fine Art. London and then went to Nigeria to teach for 10 years. On returning to UK we settled in Sheffield where I taught for a few years, then retrained as a Psychotherapist and Art Therapist, eventually gaining an MA in Art & Psychotherapy . I worked with multiply handicapped children and in Sheffield Family Service Unit before moving to Derbyhsire's High Peak where I paint and run tuition and Art Therapy courses.
My focus is mainly with landscape where I seek to interact with self, creation and creator. My theme word is "ruach" the Hebrew for God's spirit, breath, energy.
I'm married with 3 sons, 3 daughters-in-law and 10 grandchildren

Exhibitions

I do one major solo exhibition each year and then several joint exhibitions, often with Peak District Artisans (www.peakdistrictartisans.co.uk).
My most recent solo exhibition (June and July 2012) was based in N Yorkshire; it was entitled 'Threshold' with landscapes representing the land/sea threshold and meditational works based on the life of St Hilda of Whitby -the threshold between earth and heaven
Every year I exhibit with Peak Distirct Artisans at the Buxton Great Dome Art Fair as part of the Buxton Fringe Festival.
In the spring of each year I join with Shefield Open Up and Derbyshire Open Arts, exhibitng in my studio/galleru with 3 or 4 other artists
