Biography

Jennifer lives and works in South Devon. She began her career as a graphic designer and, whilst working for the BBC, gained considerable experience as a book designer and illustrator.
Since becoming a freelance artist she has illustrated many books for leading publishers and undertaken commissions of portraits and landscapes. Other commissioned work includes architectural illustration for developers and estate agents. She also exhibits regularly in Devon's art galleries. Her paintings and drawings hang in private collections both home and abroad.

As ‘Artist in Residence' at Ways With Words, a literary festival held annually at Dartington, she will be endeavouring to capture expression and character in quick sketches of the writers and members of the audience.

In recent years she has been tutoring drawing and painting courses and workshops for local art societies and groups, in life drawing, portraiture, landscapes, and flower painting, also painting holidays here, Ireland, France and Spain.

As an experienced tutor, Jenny is happy to work with all abilities of student and gives much one-to-one encouragement at every stage.
All her students finish her courses feeling inspired and motivated by the knowledge and skills gained. Students are impressed by her enthusiasm and encouragement, and are given many hints and tips during her courses.

Her love of drawing is evident in her work whether in watercolour, oils, pen or pastel.
