Biography

I am a self-taught artist and have been painting since I was a 5yr old child and watched my grandfather paint a seascape.  I was totally mesmerised and haven't been able to stop painting since.     However, life and paying bills meant that painting was only ever a hobby for many years.

The turning point for painting came when I gave up work completely to be a full-time mum and my son started attending school.  I didn't want to go back to my old work, I wanted to paint, and I had the opportunity.  So I joined local clubs, met with other artists and started regularly exhibiting and selling my work.  I regularly held open studios with Dorset Art Weeks and put on my own events plus exhibiting professionally with other local artists.  I also offered coaching on a 1:1 basis to encourage and develop beginning artists' own style.   I was also regularly undertaking commissions.  When I left Dorset in 2009 my work was selling well and in private collections both in the UK and abroad.

However, despite the success I had with painting, my asthma symptoms were worsoning year by year, something I had suffered from since childhood and it was interferring with my painting and my life.  The GP couldn't do much apart from put me on stronger medication which didn't feel right however he suggested I see a homeopath.  After a few months of seeing the homeopath I was amazed that I didn't even need my daily medication anymore.  Then I was hooked and spent the next 4 years studing hard at Bristol to be a homeopath and the painting took a backseat.   I could not believe that after having asthma for over 35 years it could be so easily cured.

Now I am a fully qualified and practicising Homeopath living in Somerset and working from various clinics.  I also treat patients over the telephone and email.    However, I have missed painting and it is now time to combine being a homeopath and artist !!

I work with acylics as I love their versatility, speed of drying and vibrant colours.  My paintings may appear to be a wide range of subjects and styles, however common to them all is the element of magical energy that captures my interest and how I present that changes with the subject.

I do accept commissions and have done child and pet portraits.
