Biography
born 1960,Jane Holford Atkin. Grew up
in the Gloucestershire countryside,
where my love of wildlife grew.
I've always loved drawing and painting,
and had my first exhibition of
paintings in the garden shed, when I
was six years old!
I attended Gloucester art college
from 1976-77 but I spent most of my
time sketching stuffed animals and
birds in the museum opposite!
I appeared on Open University's
programme, 'Natural Numbers' in 1977
drawing birds, including Barnacle Geese
at Slimbridge Wildfowl Trust.
The late Sir Peter Scott was a great
inspiration and encouragement to me;
he wrote to me when I was fifteen
telling me not give up!
As well as wildlife I draw/paint
canine and equestrian portraits for
commissions.
I am lucky to still live near countryside where I see wildlife
often.click on gallery images to enlarge.Phone me on 01179390217
