Biography

Having sketched since I was a child and apart from school studies, I'm a self taught artist. I live with my family in a small village near Melton Mowbray. I studied A level art and then graphic design at West Nottinghamshire college where I had a flair for 'commercial art' which later became know as graphic design. I've spent the last 20 odd years as a graphic designer and I draw and paint in my spare time.

I always used to work in graphite pencil until recent years where I've started experimenting with all types of coloured medium. I would say that my favourite is coloured pencil and pastel and I'm often told this is my 'niche'!

I'm inspired by too much sometimes... I often have that many ideas spinning round in my head that I don't know where to start! But, I always lean towards wildlife, birds in particular and while walking the dog, I can generally be seen with my slr camera swung over my shoulders in the hope of catching a spectacular moment that I can later reference for my next piece of art.
