Biography
I am an artist who specialises in American wildlife subjects but I also have an extensive body of work on the Native American Indian. I also teach outdoor watercolour painting in the Lake District through Lakelander Art workshops.
I work with Acrylic paint and have developed my style to embrace the strengths of the medium. However, I still love working with pencil and watercolours, samples of both styles can be seen on my website.
I am member of the Fine Art Trade Guild, and have been part of many group exhibitions. I have had two large solo exhibitions ‘Enduring Culture – Portraits of Native America' and ‘Wolves & Warriors' at the Dock Museum, Barrow-in-Furness, as well as winning the Gold Medal Award for best in show at the Society of Artists Yorkshire Exhibition.
I have just been elected to be a member of the Society of Animal Artists, a prestigious art society based in New York as well as having just gained my City & Guilds PTLLS Adult Education teaching certificate. I am also proud to have been appointed a demonstrator by Derwent pencils.
I have traveled extensively in the US researching my subject including visits to Wyoming, Vermont and Georgia where I have been able to acquire valuable reference.
My originals, giclée prints and Fine Art cards can be seen and are available for purchase via my website and my online shop.
