Biography
I was born and bought up in Oxford and now live in London with my husband and daughter. I completed a BA in Fine Art at Sir John Cass department of Art, London Metropolitan University in 2004. Since then I have exhibited at a number of venues in and around London including the Mall Galleries, Chocolate Factory (Mernier Gallery) and the Gallery@Oxo Tower. I have completed a number of private commissions and also a corporate commission for images to be used in a calendar.
I paint in oils on canvas and my work is inspired by nature. I want to capture detail, to examine these things that have caught my attention. So the work also becomes about the whole process of making. The images of natural elements; plants, pebbles, trees, snails etc are highly realistic but have a very contemporary feel.
Exhibitions
I have had my painting 'Free as a Bird' excepted for the Art Liberating Lives exhibition taking place at the Mall Galleries in London from 16th to 20th December 2009.
