Tuition

I teach all mediums to local art groups but pastels remain my favourite and my speciality.
I undertake half day and whole day workshops from my studio in Hutton in Brentwood together with demonstrations for Essex, Herts and Kent art groups. I also undertake whole day workshops in all media for aspiring artists at various locations and residential 2/3 day workshops at various locations.
If you like painting abroad, I hope to tutor art holidays in Portugal and Italy in 2013.

Biography

As a self-taught artist, I have painted since childhood exploring drawing, watercolour and oil painting. Pastels however I discovered much later.
Pastels lit a fire in me I had never experienced. There was a real urgency and vitality in my painting and those pastels released an energy I did not know I had.

Landscapes, seascapes and townscapes have since become my forte. My art materials travel with me everywhere and I enjoy capturing local scenes working “en plein air” whenever I can.

I undertake commissions and also teach workshops in all media from my studio and across Essex, Herts and Kent, give demonstrations and teach local art groups. I am an SAA promoter, a member of the Guild of Essex Craftsman and Brentwood and Southend Art Groups.

I teach overseas when numbers allow, with art holidays already undertaken in France, Sardinia, Italy and Portugal.

Exhibitions

I will be exhibiting at the Beckett Gallery Brentwood Essex 9th November to 8th December 2012 as part of the Brentwood Art Society annual exhibition.
