Felicity Jackson
I've spent most of my working life in medical research, but at last started 'seriously' painting some years ago. I’ve had no formal art training, but have attended some excellent adult education art classes.
Watercolour is my favourite medium – I love its delicacy and spontaneity . I’ve also done some work in pencil and pen. Having a lifelong interest in wildlife, animals (of all kinds) and landscapes are my preferred subjects, though townscapes and buildings also appeal to me; I’ll also paint flowers, even people sometimes…..
Although I very often work from photographs, there’s nothing to beat painting ‘on the spot’, capturing the colour and feel of the moment.
My style can mostly be described as traditional, but more recently I have been branching out into the semi-abstract.
I’ve shown, and sold, work at numerous local exhibitions over the past years, have contributed illustrations to some local publications, and I’ll take commissions.
