Biography

I've always loved to draw & paint since I was a child. I wanted to go to Art College when I left school but I was guided into a “sensible” banking job.

20 years on I followed my passion. The day my youngest went to school was the day I enlisted at Art College at Stroud. I went part time and took 2 A level's Art and Art History. I went on to do a part time Access to art & design course for two years and then secured a place at University of West of England on their prestigious Illustration degree full time for three years, resulting in a BA hons degree.

During my degree I won a highly Commended Prize with Macmillan books for my Children's book design. I also gained a place in the Association of Illustrators Image book and a place on the Début art website for emerging artists.

I've illustrated for Mantra Lingua, Hey Jumbo card company, The Natural Card Company, where my designs sold to the National Trust and Eden Project. I've designed logo's for China Chaps and the Love F1 website.

I've combined my love of countryside, painting and drawing by painting the local Gloucestershire countryside immersing myself in the landscape and painting with a sense of place.

Since I left University 2005 I have had a number of commission's for favourite landscapes or places. Exhibited at the Coningsby art gallery in London, Association of Illustrators images 30 exhibition in Brick Lane London, Fusion Gallery in Wotton Under Edge, as well as being part of numerous local exhibitions and recently for the third year running the Severn Art Trail open studio's.
