Biography
I enjoy painting buildings mainly in watercolour, especially the Dales, the Lake District and West Yorkshire. I particularly enjoy building up transparent layers and creating texture in the stone and brickwork. I love walking on the moors and fells sketching and taking photos so that I can recreate the effects created by the light in the landscape.
I have completed several commissions including (in 2000 / 2002) 3 large paintings for Halifax plc of their head office buildings in Leeds, Halifax and Edinburgh. My latest commission was a painting of Leeds Parish Church for a retiring church official. I particularly enjoy painting "house portraits".
I exhibit in joint exhibitions locally.
