David will provide specialist tuition on a one to one basis, as required.

Painting holidays in Western Crete (perhaps combined with nature walks).

All subject matter covered, techniques and colours using watercolour, acrylic, oil, pastel and crayon.

Biography

I live in North Western Crete near the north coast. I am a professional artist, tutor and demonstrator.

I provide teaching in most media and have weekly workshops in Plaka. I run painting holidays here on the island - any time of the year can be arranged. One-to-one tuition is also available.

Commissions are important and I will price for almost any subject.

I work in oil and acrylic for most of my paintings but also enjoy watercolour and pastel. I teach all media and subjects.

I work on various subjects to enable me to sell to a wider audience. However, my main paintings are of local scenery and life - especially with the coast, traditional villages and the magnificent White Mountains nearby. Main commission subjects include pet portraits and local scenery.

I also provide a framing service.

My studio at Aspro (near Gavalohori) is open most days (phone first) and I will probably be painting or framing while listening to Radio Caroline.

 

Exhibitions

The 4th Totem Art Groups' exhibition will take place at Totem, Plaka, Apokoronos, Crete will take place on sat 27th April 2013 (the week before Easter). The Groups are tutored by David Capon. The opening time will be from 10:30 till 15:30.

"Nature in Art: Art of Nature". Exhibition of work by David Capon and Michaela Raeburn at the Mosque (Main Hall) on the Venetian harbour at Xania (Chania), Crete, Greece from 8th May till 12th May 2013. Opening hours from 11:00 till 21:00 - although the Hall will probably be open earlier most days (due to distance to travel in). Prices from 90 cents (for postcards of paintings) to several hundred euros. Michaela will have collages and mosaics using natural elements. David will be exhibiting watercolour, acrylic, oil, pastel and ink paintings of many subjects (from surreal to landscape and portrait) and sizes.
