Biography

I have always loved creativity and although I achieved ‘O' level Art I followed a different career path. I revisited my love of art once my family had grown and through attending an art class, numerous workshops and a willingness to experiment I am able to continue to develop as an artist.
I use still life, a photo reference or an idea as a starting point, and although I may use a sketch book to work out composition, I tend to go straight to canvas to get a base for a painting and allow it to develop in its own way.
I love bright colours and texture and I am currently experimenting with unconventional tools to achieve semi abstract images. I work mostly in acrylic and mixed media and subjects include still life, landscapes, life drawing and abstract.
I have exhibited at the Obsidian Gallery, Mentmore Arts Festival, local schools. This and at Bucks Open Studios.
I am a member of the Visual Images Group and I teach a drawing and painting class at the Queens Park Arts Centre, Aylesbury.
